Homeschool Plan - September 2014

September is a bit of an unknown since we have a trip this month. Hoping to keep up with most work, but also trying to be realistic about homeschool while camping.

Math
  • KhanAcademy - continue to review using this program
  • Calculadder - Jack on Level 4, Kate on Level 8 - complete drill 4-5x/week
  • Life of Fred - Matt will do the 2nd reading of Edgewood, then we'll start Farming
  • MathUSee - will re-start where we left off last year when we return from camping
Language Arts 
  • Scribblers online writing class (Kate)
  • Tutoring (Jack)
  • Increasing Fluency (Jack) - one lesson/week
  • First Language Lessons Level 4 - will start after trip
  • SpellingUSee - will start after trip
  • AlphaBetter drills - 2-3x/week
  • Using Picture Books to Teach Writing With Traits - complete chapter 1, maybe start chapter 2
  • Reading - kids went through books so fast in August that I need to figure out new books for Sept! Jack will probably continue with Magic Tree House. Will make a list for Kate
  • Gratitude Journal - 2-3x/week
History/Social Studies/Geography/Biography/Religion/Literature/Art
  • Story of the World Vol I - finish ch 21-25 plus additional reading
  • The Old Testament - study patriarchs
  • Wild West - Buffalo Bill, Annie Oakley, RA Cowboy Preacher diaries (this is my great grandfather)
  • EHM's Storybook Artists - Quentin Blake
  • Rascal audiobook - complete then EdHelper vocal and literary guide
  • Summer of the Monkeys RA for Jack & Matt, IR for Kate
  • Listen to Call of the Wild audiobook as a family on trip
Science
  • Physics - finish What's Physics All About? book, continue to work through experiments in physics workbook
  • Planet Earth test worksheets from Enchanted Homeschool Mom that we started last year
  • Wolves - oh, oh, oh! This is going to be fun!!
Other
