Can't Deal

Do you ever have a day where you just. can't. deal. with it?

This is what my kitchen counter looked like last night
(the other 3 counter surfaces are pretty similar!)
This is how my dining room table still looks
(there are actually Christmas presents in that pile that I haven't mailed yet... sorry Joey and Jenifer! Maybe by Valentine's Day??)
This is the view of my office from the sitting area
(no wonder I can't get work done)
And I didn't deal with any of it last night. Left it as is and went to bed.

Today I'm going to do a big declutter!

Are you sure that's not my house . . . I just create a weekly housekeeping schedule and it seems to be helping my sanity a little. Good Luck with it all!

Oh my goodness - I am such a neat freak I would had to cleaned up some of the mess before bed. I cannot relax is the house is not picked up. My hubby tells me all of the time to relax and it can wait - I try but I normally end up cleaning up the room while my husband rolls he eyes at me.

Great timing as our house is in shambles right now and I can't be motivated to do anything about it. It's partly because we had such a busy weekend that we didn't do our usual weekend chores, which leads us to be more and more apathetic as it continues to slide downward.

I'm hosting bookclub here tomorrow night so I'm hoping that will help motivate me.

I'm glad that I am not the only one that has days like those :) Our kitchen counter is the place that all the junk gets piled too. I HATE it, but can't seem to find a better system (or teach everyone else one).

This post makes me feel so much better! My house is the exact same way (especially my office and the kitchen). And our playroom is a disaster! I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who constantly battles the clutter!

Oh, I feel your pain. I used to not be able to go to bed with clutter and would kill myself to get it all cleaned up regardless of the time. Nowadays I just handle what I can. Somedays that means picking up and others it means sitting on the couch and watching TV with my husband instead. My only rule is that no food can be left out. If I accomplish that, then hurray.
